Too much candy? Halloween Buy-Back Programs

Many local schools, dental practices, and community groups invite families to donate their ‘extra’ Halloween candy that are then sent to troops overseas. These ‘candy buy-back’ programs typically run from Nov 1-5 and offer attractive perks to participate.

They usually have monetary (rate per pound) or prize incentives for the children or families giving their candy. Check with your local dentist, orthodontist, school or community groups to see if they are hosting a candy buy-back program this year.

If not, consider starting one or having student volunteers create this as a community service project at their school. This would be a great way for your workplace or your family to promote community spirit, show thanks to our heroes overseas, and promote good dental health!
