Give Back Locally: Annual Guide to Giving

‘Tis the season for giving and giving back! The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County’s Annual Guide to Giving is out and a great resource for you, your family, or your business team to find a local organization to donate time, talents, goods or financial support this season. With #GivingTuesday coming up on November 27th, it’s a good way to explore some giving options here in Howard County.

The Annual Guide to Giving offers opportunities for you to make a difference in our own community by giving your time and talents or through donations of money, food, or gifts during the holiday season and beyond. The guide features volunteer and donation needs of 40+ local nonprofit agencies for seasonal and year round support. Before you, your family or your business begin collecting items, check the guide to see what is on the wish lists of local agencies. Opportunities range from wrapping presents, delivering meals and holiday visits, to donating food, gifts, clothing and gift cards plus a whole lot more.

This list is derived from nonprofit and public agencies that serve Howard County and the region. When you contact the agency, please mention that you found the opportunity through the Volunteer Center Serving Howard County’s Annual Guide to Giving 2018-2019.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Thanks in advance for making our community a great place to live and thrive and give back! Learn more about the Volunteer Center Serving Howard County.
