Community Outreach: December 2017

Tis the season of giving and spreading holiday cheer! Howard Tech was thrilled to be able to support 2 organizations that are near and dear to us during the holiday season – Salvation Army of Central Maryland and HopeWorks. Our Team really stepped up to support and participate for both initiatives! We are so grateful to have such community-oriented folks on our bus!

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us while we rang the bell for Salvation Army on Wednesday, December 6th! Throughout the day, Howard Tech rang the bell outside of Macy’s at The Mall in Columbia.

We teamed up with a partner from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. By the end of the day we raised $500.56 in the kettle and raised $150.00 with our “virtual kettle” fundraising efforts. If you would like to donate, there is still time to help those in need this holiday season by clicking here. Thanks again!!

HopeWorks Adopt-a-Family

An avid supporter of the wonderful work of HopeWorks, this year Howard Tech wanted to help members of our community affected by a traumatic event. HopeWorks provided a Christmas wishlist of items for a family to help them maintain some  sort of normalcy through the holidays. Howard Tech and employees contributed items and gift wrapped them to be delivered to the family by Christmas.

If you would like to learn how to get involved with HopeWorks, visit their website here or visit their new office located next door of the Nonprofit Collaborative of Howard County.
