Out in the Community: May and June 2017

Howard County’s American Heart Association Heart Ball

AHA Heart Ball 2017On May 20th, some of the Howard Tech Advisors Team got all dolled up to go to the ball. What’s even better, is that it was for an incredibly good cause. We joined other Howard County businesses and community members to raise money to fight the number one cause of death in the U.S. Here are some tips on what you can do to stay healthy and avoid heart-related diseases:

30th Annual Baltimore Herb Festival

Our Project Team Lead, Mike Blair, is committed to his community. He serves on the Baltimore Heritage Society to reinvigorate Southwest Baltimore. The Baltimore Herb Festival is held annually at Leakin Park with the area’s most abundant plant-lovers and herb-enthusiasts. You can purchase plants & herbs, dried and infused cooking herbs, vinegarettes, oils, and lots of beautiful handmade art. It’s held Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and features food trucks, live music, steam train rides, a petting zoo, live music, and more!

Earlier this year, Howard Tech Advisors signed up to raise money for the Junior Achievement of Central Maryland by forming a bowling team. Thanks to clients, family and friends, HTA’s Team raised $925 to support the wonderful work that JA does in helping 7,500 at-risk students in Maryland. On June 7th, Jason M., Mike B., Matt S., Dylan M., Manny B., and Michelle P. represented HTA at Columbia Brunswick. We can’t wait to surpass our fundraising amount next year!
